The UK is ready to advance with using the entire amount of seized Russian holdings to bolster Ukraine's war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany emphasized that this unified step would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They further noted that the move would be executed in tight collaboration with the America.

UK sanctions have immobilized over £25bn of Russian resources since the Russian government began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, resources provided to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had solely been sourced from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their aim to push forward toward utilizing the total worth of the immobilized Moscow's national funds to halt hostilities.

He noted that further restrictions over the next period would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This declaration follows EU leaders met in Copenhagen previously to discuss utilizing immobilized Russian funds for a 140-billion-euro credit to Ukraine.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump encouraged international partners to confiscate or otherwise use immobilized Russia's assets, based on reports.

The total of frozen Russian funds in the EU is estimated to be approximately €211bn.

Leader Zelensky encourages UK's Sir Keir Starmer to participate in the PURL program

Russia launched extensive bombardments all over the Ukrainian territory on that day, leading to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

Two people were killed and no fewer than 20 people were injured in the attack, the Ukrainian government stated.

In a message on X after the attack, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike aimed at public and utility structures.

"The necessity is not empty words but concrete steps - from the America, EU, and the seven nations - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he stated.

"All penalty impositions diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky stated to reporters he would encourage Sir Keir to participate in the PURL program, under which Nato countries purchase military equipment from the America to give to Ukraine.

While applauding the United Kingdom's firm backing for Kyiv, he said it should indicate firmly that it would engage in the system, as well as impose more measures on Moscow.
